What are the best ways to straighten the teeth?

If you want to straighten your teeth, you need to visit our specialist orthodontist Dr Layth Talal.

Dr Layth Talal uses the latest teeth alignment techniques to straighten the teeth, from classic metal braces to ceramic and lingual braces and clear dental aligners.

All techniques are broadly effective and one can achieve permanent straightening results if commits to cooperate with doctor to use the braces as per prescription of the doctor.

Things to Know About Braces

Metal braces are very effective, cheaper options that can achieve great results even though they don’t look aesthetically pleasing for some people.

Ceramic braces are as effective, as metal ones, but can be hidden. They are a bit pricier than metal braces.

Dr Layth recommends to start orthodontic treatments as early, as the first permanent teeth grow. The best age for braces is between 9-14 years old. However, there’s no age cap for starting teeth alignment treatment, as long as one’s committed to follow the instructions and dental health allows.

Definitely, invisible aligners such as Invisalign  are aesthetically more pleasing than metal or ceramic braces. Yet they require at least 22 hours daily commitment of usage to achieve results. Teeth require constant pressure to move to the planned direction, be that by braces or aligners. They move the same pace with either of the aligner, so non of the option is faster than the other.

The price varies depending the complication of the case. Metallic braces price starts from 8,000AED and can reach up to 23,000AED if complicated bite issues are involved and requires surgical intervention. Invisalign aligners price starts from 9,000AED and can reach up to 25,000AED.

Braces Side Effects

Teeth alignments with braces are hugely beneficial from a medical and aesthetic point of view to fix the smile, face proportions, and overall oral health of the person. There are few side effects associated with braces: pain, discomfort, mouth soreness, in rare cases periodontal diseases. Braces can trap food particles around the teeth. If the oral hygiene is poorly maintained, they can lead to teeth colour changes, cavities and gum diseases.

It is highly recommended to airfloss or water-floss teeth daily basis and use special brushes recommended by your orthodontist.
